Mark Magsayo Boxes To Superfeatherweight Victory With High Punch Output

Magsayo who is revered for his significant power and triple left hooks, has matured into a high volume puncher with very few defensive holes. While closing the distance on Jorge Mata, Magsayo even channeled some of his inner Pac-Man in the Barrios vs Pacquiao fight.

Magsayo, whose only defeat has come at the hands of the respectable Brandon Figueroa, is looking to amp up his momentum. His only flaw at times was visible pain from body shots landed from a Mata who could occasionally exploit the distance.

In his last outing, Magsayo was able to clean house within 2 rounds against a game Bryan Mercado, but the quality of opponent was objectively and surprisingly different. Mata wasn’t a pushover. His volume was way too low, but he forced Magsayo to box and at times Mata could be the pressure fighter.

With the victory, Magsayo improves to 28 wins and 2 losses, none of which are particularly embarrassing. Magsayo can definitely become a champion in the division with this victory.
