According to Google in their first ‘AI Builder’s Forum’, the major firms that are adjacent to major technological developments int the Information Technology sector could be the ones with the most to gain from the latest iterations of the Generative AI tools.
Individual contributors who are most savvy in AI and want to manage at a higher level could bypass specialized IT departments. One could surmise that this is a relevant point for firms with high amounts of Subject Matter Experts (SME).
Things are moving fast too, as SOTA models with open weights plow ahead. It’s only a matter of time until someone’s expertise is augmented by one of these models. Product market fit is also a big deal now since technological change will accelerate faster than this product to market synchronicity that has existed in the past.
That was the prevailing logic at the Builders Forum for AI practitioners and innovators in Mountain View, California. Another great point was the hard conclusion that individuals could build impressive apps and solutions with existing models staying stagnant and current capacities.
Case in point, one of the highlights is the maturity of aistudio.google. The highlight was how seamlessly Google Cloud infrastructure could be used to deploy ideated software so quickly. Such a tool would allow virtually anyone to deploy a task specific application, much like 2010’s era of breakneck application development.
