The much-anticipated Canelo Alvarez versus Terrence Crawford fight, which is set to take place in Allegiant Stadium (home of the Raiders) in Las Vegas Nevada on September 13, 2025. The event will be broadcast on Netflix. Refreshingly, the bout will not be a pay-per-view.
Build Up – Trining
Over the weekend, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez posted a picture of himself with Jaron “Boots” Ennis on his Instagram, releasing video of them training side by side in addition to the photos them in the actual boxing ring. The Canelo-Boots training session seemed to show Canelo and Boots training for a prolonged session.
Many are speculating on the nature of the session as to how long the session took place, what type of sparring and the duration of the technical work. Objective commentaries centered on how Jaron “Boots” Ennis would be able to replicate Terence Crawford’s movement and defensive stances as well as the ability for Canelo to deal with fast twitch counterpunching. This alignment between Boots and Crawford is making many professional gamblers change their selections for the fight as there are very few fighters who can replicate the fighting style of Canelo.
While some favor Crawford and his boxing ability, the edge appears to now go to Canelo because of the quality of sparring that he is able to reliable obtain in his quest to disrupt the offensive output of Crawford. There have also been some African American fans decrying the fact that Canelo would receive help from an African American champion, but the technical acumen both boxers receive would appear to be mutually beneficial, as it is unlikely that Canelo would appear willing to
YSM Sports Media asked the father of David Benavidez, Jose Benavidez Sr, noted that the issue around sparring was not too relevant to them for their fight against Anthony Yarde. When asked about sparring, Benavidez noted that he has always brought in elite type of sparring for gym work that provides them with a sharp image of their potential opponent. He also noted that elite fighters would be elusive to hit, as these would be motivating factors and helpful for tuning a boxers’ performance.
For Crawford’s sake, his training has been nothing but top-notch, according to one of his former rivals, Shawn Porter. Order noted that Crawford looked excellent at the higher weight and he didn’t doubt that the muscle and power will communicate into a unanimous decision win for Crawford.
